  • About M-Taiwan IOT

In order to verify the connectivity and interoperability of the WiMAX mobile stations (MS) and base stations (BS) for all the M-Taiwan Projects, not only adopted the internationally utilized protocol testing criteria, the acceptance testing working group has but also derived about 70 test cases for Interoperability testing specifically to cope with the aggressive status of M-Taiwan deployment. After all the test cases are passes, the M-Taiwan Logo Certificate will be issued to the manufacturer showing off that the product is with great confidence for the connectivity and performance of R1 (the interface between terminal/MS and BS) interoperability.

  • M-Taiwan Testing Specifications:

In order to obtain the M-Taiwan Logo and its Certificate, a product has to pass the following 3 testing specifications:

1. M-Taiwan Logo Conformance Testing Specifications
   (a) Conformance Testing for BS: including 3 test cases for Radio Conformance Testing and 14 test cases for  Protocol Conformance Testing
   (b) Conformance Testing for MS: including 7 test cases for Radio Conformance Testing and 25 test cases for Protocol Conformance Testing
2. M-Taiwan Logo Mobile Interoperability Testing (MIOT) Specifications
   (a) MIOT test suite #1: including 5 test cases for BS and 5 test cases for MS
   (b) MIOT test suite #2: including 5 test cases for BS and 5 test cases for MS
   (c) MIOT test suite #3: including 1 test cases for BS and 1 test cases for MS
3. M-Taiwan Logo Network R1 Extended Interoperability Testing Specifications contains 70 test cases for MS-BS IOT.

  • M-Taiwan IOT certification issue process

The M-Taiwan Logo tasks are executed and managed by M-Taiwan WiMAX Interoperability Testing Office (IOT Office) while the hands-on testing works are collaborated by IOT Office with two openly-selected M-Taiwan Test Labs, ADT & CCS as following:

2-1-1

2-1-2

(1)WiMAX send-in for testing

The WiMAX products to be verified for the utilization and adoption of the M-Taiwan Project would be sent to the M-Taiwan Test Labs (ADT or CCS) for the filing of M-Taiwan Logo application.

(2) hands-on testing works and (3) test report publishing

M-Taiwan Test Labs will perform the hands-on conformance tests individually and also lead the process of IOT altogether with M-Taiwan IOT Office. Test reports are generated by the labs upon the three testing specifications, which are M-Taiwan Logo Conformance Testing Specifications, M-Taiwan Logo Mobile IOT Specifications and M-Taiwan Logo Network R1 Extended IOT Specifications.

(4) test report reviewing

M-Taiwan WiMAX IOT office would hold the review meetings periodically to evaluate the test results with a committee consisted of local experts. The verdict of the M-Taiwan Logo would be approved by the conclusion of the review meeting. For those products possessing WiMAX Forum Logo already, the manufacturers are encouraged to submit its WiMAX Forum Logo test reports to waive the tests for M-Taiwan Logo Conformance Testing Specifications and M-Taiwan Logo Mobile IOT Specifications, in that case, only the tests within M-Taiwan Logo Network R1 Extended IOT Specifications would be required.

(5) M-Taiwan logo certificate issuing

The manufacturers would be notified by e-mail or mail about the grant of M-Taiwan Logo, and an official M-Taiwan Logo Certificate specifying the product version and constraints would be awarded in a open event. The M-Taiwan Logo Certificate list will be updated frequently on the website of M-Taiwan Project Office.

(6) M-Taiwan logo fulfillment check for acceptance testing

In the acceptance testing of M-Taiwan Projects, the project owners will have to present the M-Taiwan Logo Certificate for those WiMAX products to be reimbursed with the government subsidy.
