The MOEA’s Industrial Development Bureau strives to promote WiMAX development and application services via the M-Taiwan Project to motivate innovation in the communications industry. The “WiMAX Applications Development Project for a Mobile Yilan” was jointly deployed by the Yilan County Government and Chunghwa Telecom and has already produced initial results. During their press announcement, they would like everyone to share in the marvels of WiMAX.
In Yilan County’s “WiMAX Applications Development Project,” WiMAX technology is merged into everyday life. WiMAX and WiFi wireless networks are combined to provide all-inclusive data which is accessible to users. M-applications can give users virtual access to experience the beauty and pleasure of Yilan’s Taiping Mountain forests. It provides M-Life (Mobile Tour Guidance) applications with electronic advertisement platforms as well as Mobile Guidance devices. M-Service applications offer public safety support with its stolen vehicle identification system and cross-street surveillance system. It even offers barrier-free communications systems for the hearing-impaired to use.
