The visions of M-Taiwan include: “Mobile Taiwan,” “Unlimited Wireless Applications,” and “Toward a New Vision.” “M-Taiwan Application: High Definition Interactive TV WiMAX Services” is a program planned and executed by TTV and developed by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The program is an integration of TTV’s resources for high definition television shows and the latest WIMAX wireless mobile broadband technology. The program has made significant achievements at this stage. To share in the success, TTV organized a “High Definition Interactive TV WiMAX Services” conference on December 1, 2008. The project’s accomplishments and its application services were transmitted in real-time using high definition transmission in the form of a short sitcom starring Margaret Wang, the leading actress in The Story of Princess Huaiyu, a popular Taiwanese television series based on the legend of the Goddess of the Sea, and Zhou Ming-zeng, a supporting actor in the series. The sitcom introduced the premium services of high definition TV programs through humor. High definition programs feature 3A services on different terminals: anytime, anywhere, and any device.
According to the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, M-Taiwan is a government project that will shape Taiwan as a pioneer in the international WiMAX industry because this project will build a complete WiMAX industrial chain and network. Taiwan’s government will continue to implement public infrastructure projects including “Intelligent Taiwan” and “i-Taiwan.” These projects will lead Taiwan to launch a new era for wireless communication and realize the dream of transforming Taiwan into the first wireless broadband country in the world. Ms. Hu, Deputy Manager of TTV, remarked, “TTV has committed its human resources to the project since November 2006. TTV is confident that it will provide audiences with better programs delivered in higher quality.” |
